When the doors canted open in the early hours, the interior of the cosmic library caught light. Slants of primordial brightness — finding their way through crevasses and slit-like windows — illuminated hundreds of tables on the ground floor, revealing suspended hologram-like displays of cosmic phenomena. Catching the glow, the displays of nebulae and clusters, star systems and galaxy filaments, began to spin and swirl. They sprung to life, tendrils of innumerable stars, growing and splitting, blooming, as if they were flowers in time-lapse.
